What is your upcycling process?
All pieces are created from base garments sourced from second hand stores, hand me downs from friends, or the outbox of my personal closet. Additional fabrics are primarily also sourced from op shops, gifted to me, or are remnants of projects past. Some fabrics I have had with me for much of my lifetime. I prioritise natural materials wherever possible, and strive to be as low-waste as possible. Even the smallest scraps are kept for a future purpose.
The process of transforming a base garment to the final product is unique piece to piece. It usually involves a combination of digital sketching on photos, experimenting on mannequins, machine sewing, hand sewing, screen printing, hand painting, and heat setting. Some pieces involve lots of planning while others manifest spontaneously. The process of seeing each piece from conceptualisation through to realisation is lengthy, challenging and deeply rewarding.
Why don’t you size your garments?
Because each item is one of a kind, I have opted out of including generic sizing parameters. Measurements often differ greatly across sizes and brands, and I find generic numbered sizing arbitrary and limiting. Specific measurements are listed on the final photo of each product listing.
These measurements generally consist of shoulder width, breast/underarm width, arm length, and neck to hem length, and are measured on the garment laid flat. I recommend measuring a similar item of your own clothing in the same way to get a better idea of the fit.
I recognise these don’t give the full picture of the size and shape of all garments. If you have any further questions about sizing of particular garments - please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Will you make (x) piece again?
Unfortunately, if it’s been sold it won’t come around again. However, if you missed out on something that you really wanted please get in touch! I won’t ever make the same piece again, but would love to work with you to make something similar. Feedback on what you like is invaluable to me, and incredibly useful in steering the direction of my upcoming collections.
Do you offer custom creations?
Yes! I am always interested in collaborating and making custom pieces. Please get in touch with your ideas, I’d love to hear from you.
